I had the same type of experience trying to cancel Bell Sympatico for my dad. He got a few months free service when he bought his Dell through the mail but neither of us was ever able to get the mail configured and he wanted to switch to a cheaper provider. The operator at Sympatico just didn't want to take no for an answer - the irrelevant questions are really awful - it's none of their business who the new ISP is, or what email he's using. They ended up charging one more month on the bill but my dad said it was worth it to get rid of them. /sigh/

Thanks. Some weird caching error there ... I submitted this post and then checked my blog and it wasn\'t there, then I checked my admin and it wasn\'t there either in my posts. So I backed up in my browser history and submitted it again. Still not sure what happened, but for now I\'ll blame Opera 9.
