Looks like WordPress 2.6 is out. I submitted three patches about three months ago: 6583, 6602 and 6642. I'd like to sturdy up WordPress's ability to handle invalid XHTML markup. Care to take a whack at my XHTML Piñata? This all sounds vaguely familiar.

Anyway does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these patches moving? Someone I need to email? kthxbai

I thought Sam was going to shepherd these for you?

  2. Sounds like he has some mysterious veto power, but not commit privileges. I hadn’t planned on upgrading until these patches land, looks like that might be awhile now. Or I’ll look elsewhere…

  3. Shelley says:

I don’t understand why these patches weren’t incorporated, Jeff. You spent time, both doing the code and submitting the patches. Sam spent time trying to help the organization deliver a better standards supporting product. Half of what did get incorporated was silly gewgaws. I’m disappointed for both you and Sam.

And really happy I moved to Drupal.

A big part of it is getting tickets attention, which azaozz gave them. All three of them are now -trunk, with 6602 and 6642 in the 2.6 branch as well.

  5. @Joseph: Yep, that’s what this post was (and Sam certainly helped). Thanks to everyone.
