Mostly, I drink a diet caffeinated soda year 'round (Diet Dr. Pepper being my favorite, but store brand is cheaper :) However, when it's cold I sometimes have this tea that my wife makes. I think it's called friendship tea. Basically it's a mix of Lipton tea powder (so it's not tea leaves), Tang (or other instant orange drink), cinnamon, and red hots. Pretty good!

Ah yes, I remember now, we met after you had dismounted the "brown horse." You're probably working with the wrong group of people to avoid coffee altogether :) My strategy is to avoid coffee in the mornings, and then go for a "coffee run" in the mid-afternoon as a social thing. I don't really need to be sharp and alert for the train ride downtown, but sometimes a pick-up in the afternoon helps. Especially after having too much Indian food for lunch! Avoiding soda is also a good idea... I favor diet sprite and ginger ale myself, and water with my meals. No caffeine there :)

Hmmm, not sure if this counts. I like to take about 1/2 cup of water with a few tblspoons of honey and heat it in the microwave. Once its warm, I make sure the honey is totally mixed and diluted. Then I pour in a few ounces of brandy. Tastes great, modify amounts of water/honey/brandy to your liking.

Sorry to post off-topic, but your feed always freezes Opera. I think it has been doing this since you updated your site to use SMIL. The site works fine, but when I open the feed, it feels like Opera is taking 100% CPU.

As for hot beverages in winter, I guess I don't drink hot beverages very often, but my favorite for winter is probably hot chocolate with marshmallows. I tend to avoid drinks with caffine in them. I prefer water, milk, and orange juice.
