Check out Tex Avery's classic MGM cartoon Red Hot Riding Hood on Google Video. Nice! Not exactly a cartoon for the kids but still innocent by today's standards. Incidentally, the sexy character Red was the inspiration behind Jessica Rabbit in the great film Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

About Google Video, I think it's coming along nicely. The quality of this video is about what I expected. It's odd, this video seems to be from a ripped version (as shown in the last frame), so I wonder if Warner Brothers (who owns the rights to the MGM cartoon library) knows about this. Shhh! Don't tell them!

Our library kicks ass. It's about 3 blocks away so it's often a place to take the boys and let them blow off steam looking at puzzles, playing with puppets or picking out books. We've even picked out some DVDs for them (mostly discs in the Baby Einstein series: Baby Mozart, Baby Newton and Baby Beethoven). The kids love those DVDs, but we have had a hard time keeping their TV watching to under 30-40 minutes/day (I know, still too much for 17-month olds, but c'est la vie). As I've mentioned before, fans of the Looney Tunes cartoons have been eagerly awaiting each volume of the Golden Collection DVD sets that Warners has been issuing annually since 2003. As reported at the San Deigo Comic Con and on various sites on the internet (TVShowsOnDVD), Warners has announced the contents of the upcoming Golden Collection Volume 3. I round up the news, give you the links and provide my opinions (of course). Read the rest of this entry ...
