It was indeed the W3C <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/News\/2005#item162\">announcement<\/a> that caused my confusion when I misinterpreted the following quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Compound Document Formats Working Group chaired<br \/>\nby Kevin Kelly (IBM) moves to this Activity, and continues to develop a<br \/>\nframework for combined documents<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>as an indication that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2004\/CDF\/\" title=\"Compound Document Format Working Group\">CDF WG<\/a> would be absorbed into either the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2006\/appformats\/\">Web Applications<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2006\/webapi\/\">Web API<\/a> Working Groups.
