In All-American Comics #27 (April 1941), <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alan_Scott\">Green Lantern<\/a> introduces a comic relief supporting character named <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Doiby_Dickles\">Doiby Dickles<\/a>.  I agree with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grunge.com\/20731\/worst-superhero-sidekicks-time\/\">this article<\/a> that Doiby is one of the worst sidekicks of all time.  I&#8217;ve never been a fan of mixing slapstick comedy with superhero crime-fighting and that&#8217;s probably why I also never enjoyed <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Johnny_Thunder\">Johnny Thunder<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DC and National Comics seem to be upping their &#8220;supporting character&#8221; game in mid-1941.
