Amidst all the superhero comic book cancellations in the late 1940s in both Timely (Marvel) and DC Comics, the Justice Society of America continues to escape replacement by a horror or western comic!  All-Star Comics #47 features the JSA battling, um well, the &#8220;Ghost of Billy the Kid&#8221;.  Ok, don&#8217;t get too comfortable JSA :-\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By April 1949, this comic book may be the only place left to see six of these seven characters in action, but it couldn&#8217;t hurt sales to cash in on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.codedread.com\/comicbooks\/tag\/western-comics\/\">western comics craze<\/a> that has been booming for the last year or so, right?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By April 1949, the only DC superheroes left with their own books are the Trinity, but there is one exception: All-Star Comics.
