In it, we get even more gruesome tales of horror than in last month&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.codedread.com\/comicbooks\/?p=2573\">Crypt of Terror<\/a> comic, including an evil character using acid to first disfigure someone and then attempt to dissolve their entire body!  The Vault of Horror was hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Vault_of_Horror_(comics)#The_Vault-Keeper\">Vault-Keeper<\/a>, a character similar to the Crypt-Keeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month also featured the first issue of the Haunt of Fear #15, though the title&#8217;s host, the Old Witch has not made her appearance yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EC horror comics are here to stay&#8230; for about <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Seduction_of_the_Innocent\">4 years<\/a> anyway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In January 1950, EC renamed its &#8220;War Against Crime&#8221; comic to &#8220;Vault of Horror&#8221; with issue #12.
