Weird Science #7 (February 1951) included the story “It was the Monster from the Fourth Dimension”. In it, a farmer, who just happens to have a brilliant scientist for a brother who can explain things to him and us, encounters a four-dimensional being, as a floating, morphing pink blob. The scientist goes on to explain the concept of how we might perceive things from higher spatial dimensions that was so well-explored and well-explained in 1884’s Flatland.
After the pink blob is “pinned” to the three-dimensional realm by a torpedo and some chains, Willy, the scientist-brother, uses a machine to bring dynamite into the fourth-dimensional realm to destroy the creature. Violence solves all problems! When fourth-dimensional Willy returns he is dead… and horrified:
