Speaking of trying to make their reader’s feel new emotions, the writer’s of Supergirl continue to explore its new audience base by giving Supergirl her first crush in Action Comics #269 (August 1960). Supergirl visits Lori Lemaris’ Atlantis for the first time and meets Jerro, the Mer-Boy who introduces himself as a “scientist’s son”.
A little more back-story to Atlantis is given by showing Lori Lemaris’ ancestor, Nari Lemaris, played a major role in establishing the Atlantean society.
