In Weird Science #10 (Aug 1951), the story “Transformation complete” features a mad scientist who disapproves of his daughter’s fiance and decides to inject him with female hormones to irreversibly transform him into a woman. Lee, the fiance, starts to transform gradually over the course of days until he/she is forced to break off the engagement to the scientist’s daughter, Terry.
Eventually Terry uncovers what her father did and leaves in a rage, but not before injecting herself with the equivalent male hormone. The last panel features a simple wedding montage with the gender-reversed couple. The artist did an amazing job with this panel – both the bride and groom look just slightly off the traditional masculine / feminine model and neither one looks happy in the body they have been forced to live in. But love is love.
