Those wacky Atlas / Marvel comics are still covered in giant monsters in February 1961. This volley includes Spragg, Googam (Son of Goom), Rommbu, and… Magneto. No, not that Magneto.
This Magneto is an 8-foot tall, not-too-bright human, Hunk Larken, who gets continuously picked on for his lack of brains until he is fed up and volunteers for a space mission. He is sent up into space and happens to pass through a “cosmic mist of radioactive antimatter”. When he arrives back on Earth he is able to attract / repel anything and goes on a bit of a rampage. Eventually Earth folks give him a spaceship to go find people of his own kind so he can be happy.
