In Detective Comics #135 (March 1948), Batman and Robin are transported back in time through Dr. Carter’s hypnosis to Europe to witness the real Dr. Frankenstein and the creation of his monster. As a result, the evil cousin of Dr. Frankenstein tries to turn Batman into a mindless slave (it doesn’t work and Batman is just pretending). I just thought it was a cool drawing of a grim-looking Batman.
