Well Showcase just seems to be cranking out concept after concept. In Showcase #9 (May 1958), Lois Lane finally gets a magazine to shine all to herself, which would later carry into “Superman’s Girlfriend, Lois Lane”. Stories show Lois getting into trouble on her job and the like, but in contrast to her original solo adventures 14 years earlier, this version of Lois also does a lot of fawning over Superman, scheming about ways to get Superman to propose to her, etc. In this issue, she also meets Lana Lang for the first time, who sports a short hair-do, but has lost none of her conniving nature.
In another story in Showcase #9, Lois hits her head and has a coma-dream about marrying Superman that doesn’t quite go as she planned.
