In Action Comics #129 (December 1948), we get an odd story about Superman thawing out a caveman, and that caveman becoming sort of a celebrity. What’s odd is that the women in the comic seem to all be harboring secret fantasies of being treated poorly by their men, like being dragged about by their hair. And what does “a dreat big man” – is that a typo?
I did a tiny bit of digging around, but couldn’t find anything too strong to suggest this was a real attitude of the time. We already know that Wonder Woman doesn’t want a “he-man”. Anyway, it’s very odd to put this story next to the attack on comic books that was beginning around this time.
