For over a month now, Opera has been the only major browser out there to currently support SVG natively (Firefox 1.1 will support a subset of SVG Full 1.1 but Fx 1.1 will likely be released in August). I wrote a tutorial that delves into how to do shapes, colours and paths in SVG, it is in Draft state here. The tutorial has been tested on Opera 8, Firefox 1.1 (Alpha) and Internet Explorer + Adobe SVG Viewer. Please give it a read and send me comments.

Wow, lots of hullabaloo regarding Microsoft's recent announcements that they will have deep and broad support for RSS in the next release of Windows (Longhorn) and Internet Explorer 7. My take is that RSS is a good means of communicating a large variety of content to users and Microsoft is right: We have only scratched the surface of syndication as a technology and it is changing the way people use the web, even from a couple years ago. Not that this is any major revelation. Lots of people feel that way, Microsoft is just the first company to blow all this hot air that they are "betting all their chips" on this technology. The IEBlog posted an item today telling web developers that rounded corners would not be implemented in the upcoming Internet Explorer 7 and then linked to a 3-month-old article that would teach us all how to do rounded corners in IE 5/6 today.
